Claire GERMAIN, PhD

Project leader R&D – Principal Scientist expert in immune cells biology and organization in the tumor-microenvironment

Claire Germain is a Principal Scientist at BIOMUNEX. Prior to joining the company, she worked at Transgene (Illkirch Graffenstaden, FR) and Invectys (Paris, FR) on the functional validation of anti-tumor vaccines, CAR-T cells, and therapeutic recombinant bi-functional molecules aiming at modulating T-cell activation. She has a strong background in immunology and in antibody functional characterization, acquired during her PhD at Centre de Recherche en Cancérologie de Montpellier (CRCM, FR) and her Post-doctoral fellow at Institut de Pharmacologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire (IPMC, Sophia Antipolis, FR). There she worked on (bi-specific) antibodies able to increase NK cell anti-tumor activity. She also has strong knowledge of the tumor microenvironment acquired during her second Post-doctoral fellow, at the Centre de Recherche des Cordeliers (CRC, Paris, FR), where she studied immune cell infiltration and organization in human lung tumors. She is first author of several articles in scientific journals and also co-inventor of a recent patent.
